These comments reflect what was heard at the previous public meeting, as well as through additional stakeholder engagement. This is your opportunity to help guide the final recommendations, which will be presented later in the Spring of 2024.
Draft 79th Street Corridor Concept

Lamar to Glenwood
From Lamar to Glenwood the proposal includes a shared-use path on the north side of the street and a sidewalk on the south, with on-street parking near the school.
Glenwood to Metcalf
From Glenwood to Metcalf three options are presented - a shared-use path on the north with no sidewalk on the south, wider sidewalks on both sides, or a shared-use path on the north and a sidewalk on the south that may require additional right-of-way or easements.
Downtown Overland Park (Metcalf to Conser)
High-visibilty crosswalks, raised intersections, back-in parking and removal of right-turn lanes at Metcalf are proposed for consideration.
